Coconut Cluster Programme Launched in India
Coconut cluster programme under the scheme on Integrated Coconut Farming was launched in Gunahur Taluk in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, India. In the inauguration of official launching of the cluster programme, Smt. Minnie Mathew, IAS, Chairman, Coconut Development Board, India expressed her happiness over the initiatives taken by the farmers of the area.
The Chairman motivated the farmers to avail the benefits through the cluster approach. Shri. Bhasker Jadhav, MLC, Guhagar in his key note address emphasized the need for augmenting the collective efforts of the farmers to take full advantage of the various schemes and programmes of the government.
He appreciated the efforts of the Board in assisting coconut farmers of the region. Under the Integrated Coconut Farming programme twelve clusters are formed in Gunahur Taluk in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. (Indian Coconut Journal)
